St. Bonaventure placed fifth among nine teams at the Duquesne University Invitational that concluded Monday at the Champion Lakes Golf Club near Pittsburgh.
Led by senior Chris Cartmill, who finished sixth overall at 75-79-154, the Bonnies posted a two-day team total of 644. They trailed Robert Morris (621), Allegheny (623), American University (626) and St. Francis (Pa.) (634). St. Bonaventure finished ahead of Niagara (648), Duquesne A (652), Duquesne B (666) and Canisius (683).
Sophomore Matt Pochily of Bona finished 12th at 79-80-159. Other Bona scores: Tim Osta 80-86-166, Rich Walbroel 84-83-167 and Dan Hennesey 86-84-170.
Canisius College linebacker Bill Goldsworthy, a senior from Cazenovia, was named to the ECAC/Budget Division I-AA Weekly Honor Roll for his play in Saturday's 59-20 loss to Fairfield. Goldsworthy recorded seven tackles, including his first collegiate sack, and intercepted a pass. He is second on the Griffs in tackles with 28.
