OLAF FUB SEZ: It was American humorist "Josh Billings" (Henry Wheeler Shaw, 1818-1885), who reported: "I have lived in this world just long enough to look carefully the second time into things that I am most certain of the first time." . . .

ON THIS DAY -- In 1779, John Adams was named to negotiate Revolutionary War peace terms with Britain . . . In 1939, Warsaw, Poland, surrendered to invaders from Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union during World War II . . . A Rainbow

I wish upon a rainbow,

On every single hue,

and hope with my entire heart,

that my one wish comes true.

I wish upon its colors,

that shine so bright.

And if a single hue was missing,

it wouldn't look quite right.

The key is harmony,

it's the way each color blends.

If only the world could be a rainbow,

then we could all be friends.

I wish we could learn a lesson,

from those colors in the sky.

Together we could find world peace.

The least we could do is try.
