Joseph J. LaNasa, 74, of Third Street, who retired from his heating and air-conditioning business earlier this year, died Sunday (Sept. 26, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Nursing Home after a brief illness.
LaNasa was a native of Niagara Falls and attended local schools.
During World War II, he served in the Navy as a seaman in European waters.
Along with his son, he owned and operated J&S Heating & Air Conditioning for 22 years. The business closed with LaNasa's retirement a few months ago.
LaNasa was an avid football and baseball fan. He coached his son's and grandson's Little League baseball teams.
Surviving in addition to his son, Samuel E. of Cambria, are his wife, Jean Harrell LaNasa; a daughter Carolyn E. Manza of Grand Island; a brother Anthony of Daytona, Fla.; two sisters, Josephine Tanzella and Mary Neadow; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rhoney Funeral Home, Cayuga and South Ninth streets, Lewiston. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
