Felix "Pat" Cich, who operated a popular Hertel Avenue delicatessen for more than 40 years, died Friday (Sept. 24, 1999) in Harris Hill Nursing Facility, Amherst, where he had lived for six years. He was 87.
Born in Buffalo, Cich and his late wife, Ann, operated Pat's Delicatessen on Hertel Avenue between Delaware and Elmwood avenues until 1970.
Family members said Cich was known among his patrons as a generous man who never turned away a person in need. Cich was a member of the Hertel-North Park Businessmen's Association and Polish Alliance Ambassadors.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Case of Dunwoody, Ga., and Anne Marie Pordan of Amherst; and a son, Raymond of Lawrenceville, Ga.
A Mass of Christian Burial will offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 81 Dakota Ave. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
