Five persons were injured Saturday in three accidents in Lockport, police said.
At about 6:45 a.m., Rosa C. Ubiles, 57, of Lockport suffered leg injuries when Rita A. Rickard, 47, of Spalding Street backed out of her driveway and into Ubiles' parked station wagon, pushing the station wagon into Ubiles, who was behind her vehicle unloading items, Officer Terry Gill said.
Ubiles was released after treatment in Lockport Memorial Hospital. Rickard was charged with unsafe backing, Gill said.
Jessica Bibb, 15, suffered a head injury at 2:10 p.m. when a car in which she was a passenger collided with another car at Prospect and Corinthia streets, Officer Kevin P. Newman said. Jessica was released after treatment in Lockport Memorial Hospital.
Annie B. Womack, 41, of Lock Street, the driver of the car in which Jessica was riding passenger, was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
Three persons were injured in a two-car crash accident that occurred at 2:47 p.m. at Genesee and Pine streets, Newman said.
William C. Colaizzi, 84, of Ridge Road, the driver of one car; his passenger, Frank Manna, 52; and the second driver, Judith E. Bradley, 59, of Pine Hill, were treated for arm and shoulder injuries in Lockport Memorial, Newman said. The accident was under investigation, and no charges hd been filed.
