William E. Thomas, 82, of Morgan Drive, who was the director of labor relations for the former Model Cities project, died Thursday (Sept. 23, 1999) in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Warrior, Ala., and moved to Niagara Falls in 1956.
Thomas also was director of labor relations for the former Olin-Mathieson Co. plant and later with the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls until he retired in 1968.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and of First Baptist Church of Naples, Fla. He also was a member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club in Youngstown and of the Imperial Country Club in Naples.
Survivors include his wife, the former Grace M. Stacy; two daughters, Connie T. Leary of Rochester and Kathryn T. Mooradian; a son, Duke W. of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Rhoney Funeral Home, Cayuga and South Ninth streets.
