A pedestrian was injured at 8:45 a.m. Thursday when he started to cross Ferry Avenue in front of a stopped school bus and was struck by a hit-and-run car, Officer Thomas Winegarden said.
Thomas McArdle, 27, of 24th Street was treated for a left leg injury in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, Winegarden said. He was discharged Thursday afternoon.
The driver, Kathleen A. Guadagno, 41, of Pine Avenue, was arrested at her home shortly after the accident. She was charged with passing a stopped school bus, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and driving while her licensed was suspended, Winegarden said.
Guadagno said she stopped, rolled down the window and asked McArdle if he was all right before she took off. McArdle said he did not remember that, Winegarden said.
