UB MEN'S SOCCER TEAM SNAPS TWO-GAME SLIDE

The University at Buffalo men's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over visiting Siena.

Tim Songer scored his team-high seventh goal of the year in the 29th minute for UB (5-3-1) and John Shannon added an insurance tally in the 74th minute. Goalkeeper Justin Deming made three saves.

Elsewhere, Canisius (2-5) blew a two-goal lead in the final seven minutes of regulation and suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to Pittsburgh at the Demske Sports Complex. Charlie Williams, Eric Marsh and Ryan Puntiri scored for Canisius. Pitt's Spencer Barton scored the tying goal with 2:56 left and the winner 10:39 into overtime. . . . Goalkeeper Ed Fritz (West Seneca West) made 10 saves for Buffalo State (1-6) in a 2-0 loss to Roberts Wesleyan.
