Louis Seelbach, 82, a retired railroad engineer, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) in Buffalo General Hospital.
Born in Buffalo, he served in the Army with the 732nd Railway Operations Battalion in Europe. He worked as an engineer for 40 years, retiring from Conrail in 1981.
He was a life member of Local 421, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers; John F. Ahrens Post 5296, Veterans of Foreign Wars; AARP; the National Audubon Society; the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees; and the 732nd Railway Operations Battalion Association.
His hobbies included raising carrier pigeons.
He and Stella McClure were married in 1974. She died in 1986.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Marilyn McClure of Hamburg; two stepsons, David McClure of Tampa, Fla., and Dennis McClure of Vero Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon Saturday in O'Rourke and O'Rourke Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
A military graveside service will accompany burial in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca.
