Seven members of the North Tonawanda Charter Revision Committee were on hand at the Carousel Park Apartments Wednesday night to answer questions about the city's
proposed new charter.
Problem: nobody showed up to ask any.
The consensus of the committee members was that the reason was insufficient publicity.
Committee member Alexander Soos suggested another reason: it was bingo night at the apartments.
Members vowed to advertise the remaining two public question-and-answer sessions on the charter, which will be on the Nov. 2 general election ballot.
The next public information meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Knights of Columbus, 755 Erie Ave.
The final meeting before the vote is scheduled for Monday, Oct.18, at the Sweeney Hose Fire Hall, 495 Zimmerman St.
