Casey Martin is close to earning the right to go four-wheeling all over the PGA Tour.
Martin, who sued the PGA Tour last year so he can ride a cart to ease the pain in his right leg, needs at least a second-place finish at the Nike Oregon Classic this weekend to secure a tour exemption for 2000.
Martin has played well this summer after struggling for most of the past year. He currently is 12th on the Nike Tour money list at $101,527 entering the Oregon Classic, which begins today just north of his hometown of Eugene. The top 15 finishers on golf's minor league circuit earn a PGA Tour card.
