Akron Central School District residents will vote at a special district meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 17 on the purchase of seven replacement vehicles for the district's fleet at a
maximum cost of $303,000.
The new vehicles -- two wheelchair buses, two 22-passenger vans, two seven-passenger suburban and one four-wheel-drive -- are needed to replace vehicles and meet greater transportation demands.
The board Wednesday evening voted to hold the vote and appointed Janet Rosenberg as chairwoman and Susan Brewer as clerk for the meeting.
Residents also will vote on the purchase of maintenance equipment, including one mid-size truck and one lawnmower, at a cost not to exceed $23,500.
