Candidates for office in Elma have declared the town a "no bull" zone.
Office hopefuls, agreeing to refrain from negative and personal attacks, have signed a pledge that they will campaign only on issues of concern to the town.
The pledge is the brainstorm of Councilwoman Susan Glownia.
"The people of Elma deserve to know which issues are facing our town as we enter the next century and what position our candidates take on those issues," she said.
Mrs. Glownia said issued the challenge to "set Elma above the usual political fray and apart from other towns in Erie County."
