Clifford H. Soles, 56, who owned Soles Brothers Gulf Station in Newfane since 1963, died Monday (Sept. 20, 1999) in his Lake Road home.

A native of McKeesport, Pa., Soles moved to Wilson 12 years ago from Newfane.

A 33-year member and former fire chief of Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Company, he also had been first, second and third fire chief over the years. He was a member of the Newfane Lions Club.

A race car enthusiast, he also enjoyed hunting, boating and snowmobiling.

Survivors include his wife, the former Judy Zarillo; two sons, Steven and Eric, both of Newfane; a stepdaughter, Marna Wizner; a brother, Albert of Lockport; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, 2670 Main St., Newfane. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery.
