The North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation and Parks has announced that employment applications for seasonal positions next year are available now.
Since the city will be opening its new nine-hole addition to Deerwood Golf Course, it is expected that at least six additional seasonal positions will be available.
Residents who are 18 years of age or a high school senior may apply.
Positions available are cashier and starter rangers.
In addition, the department is seeking seasonal laborers to help maintain the golf course.
The starting wage for these positions ranges from $5.15 to $5.45 per hour
Before beginning the job new employees will be required to take American Red Cross Community First Aid Training.
Employment applications are available at the recreation office in the Col. Payne Community Center, 460 Wheatfield St.
The Recreation Department also is conducting registration for its Fall Little People's Recreation Program.
The nine-week program is held once a week and is open to North Tonawanda residents ages 4 and 5.
Separate Monday and Wednesday classes will be offered from 4:40 to 5:45 p.m. in the Col. Payne Community Center. A $10 materials fee is required with an opening date of Oct. 13 for the Wednesday class, and Oct. 18 for the Monday class. Registration forms are available at the department office.
