The Salamanca Rail Museum has published its 20th annual calendar using materials from its archives for the first calendar of the 21st century.
The calendar for 2000 is unique because it features for the first time items from former Erie Railroad monthly magazines.
The museum has a complete set dating from the first issues in the early 1900s until it ceased publication in the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad era.
Featured are photos of standard railroad equipment as well as many one-of-a-kind pieces of railway rolling stock, including Erie's electrification project from Rochester to Avon and Mount Morris.
Jamestown is the focal point for several scenes for the Erie Railroad and the Jamestown, Westfield and Northwestern interurban line.
The front cover is a photo of an early Mallet locomotive owned by the Erie Railroad.
Copies of the calendar are $3 at the gift shop and can be ordered by mail by sending $4 to the Salamanca Rail Museum, 170 Main St., Salamanca 14779.
