TAKE IT FROM SPIDEY
Spider-Man's newest foe is drugs. Spidey and other Marvel Comics characters will star in an anti-drug comic book series, "Fast Lane," starting this month. Marvel developed it for the White House's media campaign against drugs; look for the books as inserts in such 'zines as Boys' Life and Girls' Life.
HEAPS OF HAZING
80 percent of college athletes are subjected to some kind of hazing, a new study says. Alfred University surveyed 14,000 students, coaches and other athletic officials from NCAA colleges and universities across the country. And the survey picked up some interesting trends: Men were more likely to be hazed than women, and the sports with the most hazing were swimming and diving, lacrosse, soccer, football and ice hockey. Examples of hazing ranged from making athletes wear embarrassing clothing to kidnapping or beating them.
HE ASKED FOR IT
Kenyan steeplechaser Barnard Barmasai wasn't a very good sport at a recent race in Switzerland. He said that when teammate Christopher Koskei came close to passing him in the 3,000 steeplechase, Barmasai asked him to back off, and Koskei did. The world track federation was bothered enough to take Barmasai out of the running for a $1 million bonus that the winningest track athlete gets at season's end.

"I have no butt. Everybody tells me that. It's tiny. Yes, it is. What can I do? Not even rock climbing helps. But it's OK. I don't care."
