Employees at Olean General Hospital have raised a total of $104,560 toward the hospital's Vision 2000 expansion and renovation project.
The total was announced to employees recently by Joseph Gaughn and Cindy Rodd, who head the employee campaign committee. The amount exceeded a goal of $100,000, and was raised through raffles, sale of various items, and individual contributions.
John M. Hart, chairman of the hospital's board of directors, said he was impressed by the workers' enthusiasm.
"They have made a resounding investment to our community," he said. "By contributing to this project, they are helping to make a modern hospital a reality for all."
Vision 2000 is a $30 million project that includes a new wing, an expanded emergency department, a telemedicine center, a cardiac rehabilitation center, an expanded laboratory, new patient rooms, and a new surgery center.
The 209-bed hospital serves three New York and two Pennsylvania counties and has more than 130 physicians on staff.
