Former "Grace Under Fire" star Brett Butler says drugs and booze led to the end of her show and made a mess of her career.
"I fell down hard and went boom and I may never make it up to some of the people," she said in an "Entertainment Tonight" interview for broadcast Monday and today. "I lost a lot and created a great deal of wreckage and don't have anybody to blame for myself."
Butler said she has since kicked drugs and been sober for more than a year.
Production of her ABC show stopped in 1998. She now plays a waitress on PAX TV's new dramatic anthology series "Chicken Soup for the Soul."
