Antonio Marrero, 72, died Saturday (Sept. 18, 1999) in his 19th Street home after a brief illness.
Marrero was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where he attended school, and moved to Niagara Falls in the early 1950s.
He worked for 32 years in the coated abrasives department of Carborundum Co. and retired in 1988.
His family described Marrero as "the kind of person who would do anything for anybody."
Survivors include two sons, Antonio Jr. and William; four daughters, Sarah Argy, Susan Boos, Nancy, and Roselind; a brother, Nelson, and a sister, Estreda, both of Puerto Rico; his ex-wife, the former Sarah Burgos; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
