For days, no one could find Jeffrey Button, the man accused of murder in the Steuben County community of Hornell.
Police finally got their man on Friday, thanks in part to a taste for venison. It seems the suspect was arrested after filing a claim for the deer he hit with his pickup truck.
Button hit the deer Wednesday and promptly filed a police report claiming the animal's carcass for meat. Police said the claim led them to Button's whereabouts.
If Button is found guilty, he may be the boldest killer to come down the pike in years.
Or the dumbest.
