Sophia Loren is suing 76 companies, claiming they are using her name and image to lure visitors to pornographic Web sites.
Loren's business agent, CMG Worldwide, said the federal lawsuit filed Friday aims to shut down the 130 Web sites currently being produced by those companies.
"Some have digitally manipulated images, while others just use her name to attract people to their pornographic sites," said Mark Roesler, CEO of CMG and Loren's attorney.
The Oscar-winning Italian actress, a symbol of Mediterranean beauty to a generation of filmgoers, turns 65 Monday.
"I am horrified by the disgusting actions of the offending companies," Loren said in a statement from her home in Geneva.
