A household hazardous waste drop-off day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Erie County Highway Garage, 1870 Military Road in the Town of Tonawanda.
The event, sponsored by County Legislative Chairman Charles M. Swanick, Legislator Lynn Marinelli, and the county Department of Environment and Planning, will allow residents to bring the following types of household waste for drop-off:
Propane cylinders; cell batteries; waste motor oil and antifreeze (limit 10 gallons per person); pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides (in original labeled containers); lead acid car batteries; paint thinners and waste solvents (limit two gallons per person); oil based paints (in original cans, limit 10 gallons per person).
No spray paint cans or commercial, farm, or business waste will be accepted.
