Health Management Group provides training, employment opportunities and counseling for adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, mental illness, relationship and family problems, alcohol and substance abuse counseling for both adults and adolescents:

Horizon Initiatives provides work-training opportunities leading to employment. Training programs are available to individuals who are recovering from chemical dependency and mental illness. These include: commercial/residential painting, construction trades and secretarial services.

Horizon Health Service provides comprehensive vocational assessment, career preparation, resume development and job placement. For more information, call 831-1800.

People Inc., 2128 Elmwood Ave., offers services for children up to age 3 with developmental delays and their families through an early intervention program. Diagnostic evaluations, which determine a child's eligibility for services, are held in the Elmwood Health Center, 2128 Elmwood Ave., or in the child's home. Services include service coordination; physical, occupational, speech and behavioral therapy; nursing care; nutrition; hearing evaluations; parenting skills training, counseling; and extended respite. Lake Shore Behavioral Health works to enhance the mental wellness, functioning and quality of life for Western New York residents at 11 locations in Buffalo, Lackawanna and the Southtowns. Services, available in Spanish and English, include mental health, addiction recovery, vocational and intensive psychiatric rehabilitation. For more information, call 884-0888.

Heritage Centers offer services to developmentally disabled individuals and their families, including vocational training, day habilitation, support work, residential services, respite, legal and advocacy services and preschool and school-age education. Allentown Industries, a division of Heritage Centers, provides subcontract work and work skills training to adults with developmental disabilities. For information, call 851-4201.

CASA Caregiver Workshop provides training and support for family caregivers. "Questions and Answers About Nursing Homes," with speaker Anita Dutcher, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Central Branch Library, Lafayette Square. For information, call 858-2310.

Agape Parents Fellowship, 3280 South Park Ave., Lackawanna, provides service coordination, education advocacy and other supports for families with disabling conditions. For more information about services for regularly scheduled parent support group and Bible study meetings, call 827-5407.

The Early Childhood Direction Center provides information and referral to parents and professionals on the needs of developmentally disabled children to age 5. Amputees Helping Amputees meets evening meetings at the Sisters Hospital Medical Building, Harlem Road near Sheridan, Amherst just off the Youngmann Highway exit. For meeting dates, call 862-1170.
