Walkers will don red ribbons today to participate in the third annual AIDS Walk for Hope, beginning at noon on Goat Island.

Red Ribbon Day in Niagara County is being held to raise awareness about Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Walkers will cover 4.5 miles of the state Reservation Park and the upper rapids leading to the falls.

Registration with a minimum sponsor donation of $20, or $40 for a family, begins at 11 a.m.

After the walk, a musical group called SLAM will perform, and there will be a free picnic for all participants.
