The superintendent of Cattaraugus Central Schools, accused last month of lewd behavior in Ellicott Creek Park, pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment in the Town of Tonawanda Friday.
John Mormile, 54, of South Franklin Street, was arraigned before Judge Frank Caruso.
Mormile was arrested Aug. 23 in a remote area of the town park when he allegedly exposed himself to an undercover police officer.
Mormile is scheduled back in court early next month to answer the charges. Meanwhile, he is suspended from his job with pay and benefits pending an investigation by the school district. Hired in May 1989, Mormile earns an annual salary of $87,235.
