Audrey Wall, 85, a legal secretary in downtown Buffalo for 59 years until her retirement in 1990, died Thursday (Sept. 16, 1999) at the GreenField Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster, where she had been a resident since October.
Born and educated in Buffalo, Miss Wall was a longtime resident of South Buffalo.
She was well known to almost every attorney and judge in Buffalo. Her legal secretary career began in 1931 in the office of attorneys John Carlo and Jacob Latona. The latter later became a judge.
Miss Wall continued to work in the same office for attorneys James M. Carlo and the late Jacob Fadale. Carlo said she was known in the legal profession as the "epitome of professional secretaries." She retired in 1990 at age 76.
She enjoyed traveling and told friends that she had toured "places from Alaska to South America and everything in between." She also enjoyed the theater and classical music.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the Nightengale Funeral Home, 1884 South Park Ave. A private entombment service will be held at the Birchwood Mausoleum in Forest Lawn.
