Anthony J. Murty of Niagara Falls, chairman of the Niagara County Right to Life Party, has been re-elected to another two-year term.
Also re-elected were Vice Chairman Karen A. Garigen and Treasurer Barbara A. Kenny, both of Pendleton. Ann M. Metz of Pendleton was elected secretary.
Murty said Thursday that the outcome of the Right to Life Party primary election for mayor of Niagara Falls remained in doubt because write-in votes had to be tabulated.
The party originally endorsed Councilman John G. Accardo, the Democratic candidate, as its choice for mayor, but withdrew the endorsement and gave it instead to Irene J. Elia, the Republican candidate because Accardo supported a fund-raiser for Planned Parenthood of
However, the change came too late to remove Accardo's name from the Right to Life ballot in Tuesday's primary election, and party leaders urged their members to write in Ms. Elia's name.
