WESTERN NEW YORKERS LAG BEHIND IN SENIORS

Defending champion James Infantino of Rochester (73-75) was among three golfers tied for the lead at 4-over-par 148 heading into today's final round of the New York State Golf Association Men's Senior Championship at the Stafford Country Club near Batavia. Bill Robischon of Rochester (73-75) and first-round leader Michael Sanger of Fishers Island (71-77) were tied with Infantino. Roy Smith of Frankfort had a 72 for the day's low round.

Closest to the leaders among Western New York golfers was Charles Card Sr. of Sheridan Park at 77-75-152. Paddy Cawdery (Gowanda) missed the cut at 79-79-158.

Horace Malfa of Mamaroneck leads by three shots in the Super Senior Division for golfers 65 and over with a two-day total of 158. Gordon Meccay (Glen Oaks) was at 80-81-161.
