Women Associates of the Buffalo Power Squadron will participate in the 11th annual "Beachsweep," part of an international cleanup Saturday. The group will go to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., Sept. 26 for a day's activities including jet boating, a steamship cruise, bicycle tours and a performance of "All My Sons" at the Shaw Festival Theatre. WABPS took first place in the Waterfest Boat Parade Aug. 7.
Erie District of Order of the Eastern Star will have its homecoming Saturday at 8 p.m. in Ebenezer United Church of Christ, West Seneca. Mildred E. Kellner of Cazenovia Chapter 287, grand chaplain; Nancie A. Kallin of Pond Chapter 853, district deputy grand matron, and Walter H. Fox of Cazenovia Chapter, district grand lecturer, will be honored. They will be among district members attending the Grand Chapter Sessions Oct. 25-27 at Lake Placid. A testimonial dinner will be held Oct. 24. Assemblywoman Sandra Lee Wirth, R-West Seneca, spoke on state budget issues at a dinner for Interclub Council of Western New York Monday in Fanny's restaurant. Plans for a seminar, "Project 2000," Oct. 22 for sophomore and junior girls in Bennett High School and Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart were presented by Barbara H. Strzyz, chairwoman. Members of Junior League of Buffalo toured the King Urban Life Center Tuesday preceding a meeting in the center. Claity Massey, the center's director, conducted the tour. Honeoye Falls-Town of Mendon Historical Society will sponsor a paper show Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Honeoye Falls-Lima Senior High School, 83 East St., Honeoye Falls. Proceeds will benefit the society's museum building, collection and programs. Students Club had a "welcome back" luncheon Wednesday in the Mary Karrer's in Williamsville home.
