The New York Dwarf Car Association will return to Merrittville Speedway in St. Catharines, Ont., as a regular class in 2000. The NYDCA ran on a limited basis at Merrittville as an experiment in 1998 and joined the weekly programs at Merrittville this season.
Dwarf cars are smaller versions of pre-war coupes and sedans powered by motorcycle engines. These engines sport an overhead cam and produce 10,000 rpm, and 100 horsepower.
The NYDCA will be racing this Saturday at Merrittville along with the headlining Empire Super Sprints, with racing beginning at 7:30 p.m. The ESS special concludes Merrittville's season.
