Mary Lou Girolamo Cellino, 37, district manager of InterPay, a payroll services business in East Aurora, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) in her Lancaster home after a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, she was a graduate of West Seneca East Senior High School and Buffalo State College.
She began her business career as a sales associate in the securities department of Empire of America Federal Savings Bank. She won many sales and performance awards and eventually was promoted to platform supervisor. Her career was interrupted when she left the bank to start a family.
Later, she resumed her career as a branch store manager for Al-Ross Sports Screening before moving to InterPay. She quickly rose to the position of district manager, the job she held at the time of her death.
She was active at Annunciation School, where her sons Jason, 9, and Joseph, 7, are pupils. She was a member of the Home-School Association and often volunteered in the school library and cafeteria.
She was the co-founder of the Southtowns Chapter of BNI, a business networking group, and was treasurer at the time of her death. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church.
Besides her sons, survivors include her husband of 13 years, Joseph B.; her parents, Rocco and Carmella Girolamo of West Seneca; three brothers, Angelo Girolamo of Fairfax, Va., Danny and Michael Girolamo, both of West Seneca; and a grandmother, Filomena Girolamo of Naples, Italy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Gabriel's Church, 5271 Clinton St., Elma. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Lancaster.
