Ann P. Fitzpatrick, 74, a retired nurse, died Tuesday (Sept. 14, 1999) in her home on Fairway Drive after a long illness.
A native of Niagara Falls, the former Ann P. Tuttle attended Sacred Heart School and St. Mary's High School in Niagara Falls and graduated in 1943 from Stella Niagara. She was a 1946 graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick began her nursing career in 1946 at St. Mary's Hospital in Niagara Falls and later worked for the Visiting Nursing Association of Western New York.
She then worked as a public-health nurse for the Niagara County Health Department until her retirement in 1991.
In retirement, Mrs. Fitzpatrick worked as a substitute school nurse in the Lewiston-Porter School District until she became ill in 1994.
She was a member of the St. Francis Guild of Mount St. Mary's Hospital of Lewiston and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Sacred Heart Mothers Club.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick had been a volunteer worker at Artpark and at St. Peter's bingo games. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James J.; two daughters, Suzanne Cournyea and Shirley Muraca; two sons, James D. of Lewiston and John M. of Wheatfield; a sister, E. Shirley Lewis of McDonough, Ga.; and 13 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Church, 600 Center St., after prayers at 9 in Rhoney Funeral Home, Cayuga and South Ninth streets.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
