Deputy Assembly Speaker Arthur O. Eve will be made an honorary member of the newly chartered chapter of the national honor society Chi Alpha Epsilon during an induction and chartering ceremony Thursday at Fredonia State College.
The honor society recognizes academic achievers among Educational Opportunity Program students.
Elbert M. Saddler, who founded the society in 1990 at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, will officiate at the 4 p.m. ceremony in the Williams Center on the Fredonia State campus. A reception will follow.
The public will be welcome at the event, sponsored by the Educational Development Program at Fredonia State.
Nine current students and five 1999 graduates of Fredonia will be inducted into the new Chi Alpha Epsilon chapter. There are more than 30 chapters of the honor society in the U.S.
