A Town of Lancaster car dealership damaged by a smoky fire reopened Tuesday afternoon as investigators work on establishing the cause of the blaze.
Monday night's fire originated in the parts department at Joe Basil Chevrolet, 5111 Transit Road, the Twin District Fire Company chief had said. Fire damage was minimal, he said, but smoke damage was thought to be more extensive.

Detective Vincent Pupo, a fire investigator for the Erie County Sheriff's Department, said the building's electrical system will be examined today by an electrical engineer as part of the continuing investigation. "We hope to have some further information about the possible cause by the end of the day -- at least by the end of the week," he said Tuesday.
