I became so emotional while reading Timothy Williamson's recent "My View" column, "Before opposing group homes, take time to learn the facts." Like Timothy's son Rob, my Joseph has cerebral palsy. The thought of anyone opposed to living near my charming, bright 6-year-old boy when he grows to adulthood is unthinkable.
Due to incredible medical technology, more and more babies are surviving premature birth. More children are being born into this world with cerebral palsy. Perhaps kids like Rob and Joe have special needs because they will be the ones to open the minds of Jurassic-types to the fact that God doesn't make mistakes. These citizens are more than viable. They are chosen.
