Glenn Newton Diffine, 84, of 75th Street, who worked as a student adviser at LaSalle High School, died Monday (Sept. 13, 1999) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Niagara Falls, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara University with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Diffine worked as a laborer at Carborundum Co.'s Abrasives Division in Wheatfield for 28 years before teaching at LaSalle High School.
He was a former master of Lodge 132, F&AM, and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Shriners and the Lewiston-Porter Square and Compass Club.
Diffine enjoyed dancing and following the stock market.
Survivors include his wife, the former Blanche Nassoiy Nixon; a daughter, Cheryl Brunett of Lewiston; three stepdaughters, Emilie Coyne of Livermore, Calif., Mary Beth Louro of Indian Shores, Fla., and Patricia Patronski of Youngstown; a stepson, James Nixon of Kenmore; two sisters, Josephine Elston of Buffalo and Florence Tidd; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services will be scheduled. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
