The Elma Republican Committee has endorsed Salvatore F. Valvo, a retired state trooper and 10 year resident of Elma, as a candidate for councilman in the November election.
Valvo retired from the state police in 1997 after 27 years during which he received numerous awards and citations. In 1993 he served as director of security of the World University Games, coordinating and supervising 48 Canadian and American law-enforcement agencies and officials that were responsible for the safety of 500,000 spectators and 6000 athletes and officials.
Valvo said his "vision for the Town of Elma is to see the town progresses and prospers to meet the needs of the residents and to comply with the wishes of the people. My mission is to serve the people as I have done my entire adult life, to the best of my ability in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
