Two 18-year-olds were charged with robbery after they allegedly choked a Sears Street man and stabbed him in the hand during a struggle, police reported Sunday.
The victim was walking on Broadway early Saturday when he passed the two, who turned around and grabbed him from behind, he told police. He said he was choked and stabbed and lost consciousness. When he came to, he found that $250, a debit card and his learner's permit were missing.
The two was arrested Saturday afternoon after they allegedly tried to use the debit card to obtain money from an automatic teller machine.
LaVerne Brooks of no permanent address and Kendall McClaine of High Street both were charged with robbery. McClaine also was charged with possession of a weapon and Brooks with possession of stolen property.
