POLICE ARREST TWINS IN LACKAWANNA ALTERCATION

Two Lackawanna police officers had double trouble Sunday morning when an Olin Lane resident allegedly tried to run the officers down with his car, police said.

Tremaine L. Giddens, 22, and his twin brother, Jermaine, were arrested after the 4:09 a.m. incident on Bethlehem Street.

Police said Officers Thomas Druzbik and William Kukoleca were on Bethlehem responding to a "man with a gun" call when they saw the Giddenses' vehicle and got out of their patrol car to question the occupants.

Tremaine Giddens, the driver, "floored it and tried to run the officers over," Officer Robert Lester reported.

Druzbik and Kukoleca were unhurt, and the Giddens twins were unable to drive off because the officers' patrol car was blocking the street, Lester said.

The officers arrested the twins, charging Tremaine with reckless endangerment for allegedly trying to run them over; criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a car window earlier in the night; and several vehicle and traffic violations, Lester said.

Jermaine was charged with harassment for allegedly hitting an Ingham Avenue man, also in an earlier incident.
