MAN ACCUSED OF ROBBING WOMAN FOR SECOND TIME

A Congress Street man who allegedly knocked down and robbed a neighbor, who he also had allegedly victimized a week earlier, was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday, police reported.

Juan Ortiz, 54, was charged with robbery, burglary, assault, possession of stolen property, harassment and petit larceny after he allegedly climbed through a front window of the woman's home, knocked her down, kicked her and took $60 from her purse. The woman suffered scratches on her neck and both arms, police said.

Ortiz also was charged with grand larceny after police said that a week earlier he had forced the same woman -- while holding the back of her neck and threatening to scratch her -- to accompany him to an automatic teller machine and hand over $20 she withdrew.
