I was absolutely appalled when Blue Cross and Blue Shield limited my choice of pharmacies. I am now outraged that they have released my name and possibly my health records to the pharmacy of their choice. This is an invasion of my privacy.
As a member of Blue Cross for over 30 years, I now have to question the ethics of the organization. I feel it is a big business deal and another step toward limiting choice in health care. Where has the "caring" gone in health care?
I applaud Sens. George Maziarz and Anthony Nanula, who plan to introduce a bill in the State Legislature making this practice illegal. Hopefully, this bill will have bipartisan support and not be entangled in the world of politics.
Perhaps George Orwell was correct -- only Big Brother arrived 15 years later than predicted.
