A Lewiston couple was injured Saturday when thrown from a motorcycle as it rammed into the back of a car in the 3200 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara County sheriff's Deputy Scott Milleville said.
John A. Orefice, 42, of Garlow Road, who was driving the motorcycle, was undergoing surgery late Saturday in Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. He was flown to the hospital by Mercy Flight.
Sgt. Gregory Saraf said it appeared Orefice suffered serious head injuries.
His wife, Laurie E. Orefice, 47, also was admitted to the medical center with leg injuries. Her condition was unavailable Saturday.
The crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m., when a car driven by Robert J. Weise, 44, of Hillcrest Road, Town of Tonawanda, stopped to turn into the parking lot of a store, Milleville said.
