The Independent Insurance Agents Association of Western New York elected Peter M. Stevens president. He is president of the Edmund D. Stevens Agency. Other officers: vice president, Joseph F. Pecora; secretary, Joseph M. Floss; and treasurer, Charles Cassetta. And, Dale R. Peter and Roger Gurney were selected as board members.

New York Chiropractic Group Inc. appointed Dr. Lisa DeMarco clinic director and Dr. William J. Owens Jr. assistant clinic director at Sheehan Memorial Hospital Chiropractic Department. And Dr. Greg Hnat and Dr. Lorraine Kochanowski have joined the chiropractic department.

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce appointed Pamela Lydic executive vice president. The Chamber also named Amy Vercant director of public relations.

The Professional Communicators of Western New York named William M. Collins recipient of the David I. Levy Communicator of the Year for his achievements in business and contributions to the community. Collins is a principal of Travers/Collins/Partners and Collins & Company Public Relations.

White Directory Publishers Inc. promoted Dave Williams to vice president of marketing.

Wyoming County Bank promoted Kevin D. Maroney to senior vice president.

Uni-Marts Inc., which operates convenience stores on the Southern Tier, has promoted N. Gregory Petrick to the position of chief financial officer and senior vice president. He had been acting CFO since May.

Ciminelli Development Co. Inc., a Buffalo commercial real estate development firm, made several appointments: property manger, Al Grabowski; estimator/assistant project manager, Gene Donohue; accounting clerk, Li Tseng; marketing coordinator-Key Center, Sheila Gallagher; executive assistant to the president, Kathleen McCarthy.

The Home Improvement Council of Western New York elected Fred Browning president for the third consecutive year. He is chairman of Browning Home Improvement. Other officers: vice chairman, Bob Emser, Neth & Sons Inc.; secretary, Jennifer Arida, A Best; and treasurer, Don Blackman, M&T Bank. The council also presented The Hal Goldblatt Memorial Award to Scott Schneider of Scott Enterprises Inc. for his dedication and support.

Fleet's Investment Services Group hired Janet H. Schumacher as a relationship manager for its not-for-profit accounts in Rochester and Buffalo.

Cutco Cutlery Corp. in Olean named Al Evans vice president of product research and development.

The Society of Plastic Engineers-Buffalo Section gave special recognition to retiring instructors George Gallo and Donald Scheller for their highly successful plastics program at BOCES in East Aurora. Also, the Student Awards Program gave cash awards to Dean Currie of Harkness Occupational Center, Frank Marx and Kevin Mendel, both of Moldcraft Inc.

K. Lee Slaughenhoupt, senior project manager in the Lewiston office of Niagara Boundary and Mapping Services, was admitted to the practice of professional land surveying in New York State.
