Intermediate to advanced students with a minimum of five years ballet training may audition for parts in a professional production of "The Nutcracker" starting at 3 p.m. Saturday. Open auditions for Jamestown Community College Uncommoners' fall musical, "Grease," will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center is seeking visual art which explores the image, story or issues related to the historical and legendary figure of Joan of Arc. Works will be presented in front of the galleries during a film and performance series on the same subject in October and November. Robert John Holland of Cassadaga has 15 paintings included in "The Blues in Art," on view through Oct. 10 in the University of Florida Art Gallery. Holland is known for his paintings and photography of live musical performances, including the now-closed Belle Starr in Colden.
