The United Way of Northern Chautauqua County has raised almost a quarter of its 1999 goal.
Campaign co-chairman Charles Devine announced during a kickoff luncheon Friday at Demetri's Restaurant on Lake Shore Drive West that the drive's $450,000 goal is $50,000 more than last year.
So far, advanced gifts from major donors and corporations total $108,000. The campaign is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year. The United Way funds a total of 25 agencies and 42 programs.
