Alexander J. Molnar was ordered Friday to remain jailed without bail after he pleaded innocent before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to a murder indictment in the strangulation of a woman whose body was found in a closet in his Herkimer Street home.

Indicted Thursday and jailed since his Aug. 18 arrest, Molnar, 38, is charged with killing Janis Johnson, 42, of Richmond Avenue, between July 25 and Aug. 6 and stuffing her body in the closet, then fleeing his flat.
