The sale of the former W.T. Grant's department store at Third and Washington streets is final.
But the realtor involved said Friday the purchaser won't be announced until sometime late next week. Eugene Cotter of Cotter Realty, which has handled the sale locally, said it's good news that the long-vacant, 30,000-square-foot structure is being put back into use.
Cotter said the 108-year-old building has been vacant for more than 15 years. It was purchased by the former Union Trust Company in 1949 and was then sold to a Boston businessman who leased the building to W.T. Grant Company, which then bought the structure in 1954.
