Emma R. Dover, 74, a retired bookkeeper, died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) in her Niagara Falls home after a long illness. She was under the care of Niagara Hospice.
The former Emma Reiche was born in Brooklyn and graduated from high school there. She attended Brooklyn College.
She married N. Roderic Dover in 1949; he died in 1974.
They lived in several places, including Westchester County, New Jersey, Wisconsin, and Connecticut, before moving to Niagara Falls in 1968.
Mrs. Dover worked as a bookkeeper or payroll clerk at several companies in the places the family lived. She went to work at Moore Business Forms here in 1981 and retired in 1991.
She was an active member of Niagara Community Church and worked in its children's programs.
Mrs. Dover enjoyed sewing clothes, wall hangings, and other items, making and collecting miniatures, and collecting unusual toys and games.
Survivors include two sons, Russell of Reamstown, Pa., and Bruce of Cambria; two daughters, Nancy Pearce of Bennettsville, S.C., and Betty Black; a brother, Walter Reiche of Rockaway; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in her home. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Wheatfield.
