A two-story frame house next to a gas station-convenience store is about to become history.
A demolition permit for the structure, at 765 Central Ave., was issued Friday and the house was expected to be demolished shortly.
The property, owned by United Refining Co. of Erie, Pa., which also owns the gas station-convenience store, was the subject of a court case after the Planning Board rejected the demolition. United Refinery won the right to demolish in state Supreme Court.
The area is part of the historical overlay zoning district, and Planning Board permission is required for demolition. United Refining has not formally laid out plans for the site.
